SISTERHOOD OF THE SEMI-COLON
Today I went to a tattoo artist, and for $60 I let a man with a giant Jesus-tattoo on his head ink a semi-colon onto my wrist where it will stay until the day I die. Heather Parrie
5 SIZZLING READS FOR THE SUMMER OF 2020
Summer 2020 will be a season to refresh, renew, and soak up the sun (under the protection of Spf 50 and a mask?). What better way to spend the rare, rainy summer day than with one of the following reads. All five books are completed on my Kindle. Dive in at the risk of a greater love for God and neighbour.

FINDING BEAUTY IN YOUR OWN BACKYARD
Jocelyn and I have lived in our home for 30 years. Previous to us, the owners planted wild rose bushes in the backyard flowerbeds bordering the property. Typically, the rose bushes bloom, and drop their petals all within two weeks. Up until this summer I’ve been too busy or travelling to be around at the height of their beauty. This summer, COVID, injury and health problems have confined me to home, and our backyard. Serendipitously, I discovered the beauty eluding me for decades.

In fact, the world is falling to pieces and all bets are off if the king’s men and the king’s horses can put the pieces back together again.

WHEN YOU’RE CALLED OUT TO SPEAK UP
This week I got called out by someone in our black community to speak up as a leader on #blacklivesmatter. I was a little taken back because I wanted to remain in a posture of listening and learning. I am bravely stepping out to do what I can to lean into hard conversations presently.
