Sheldon Cooper was the first person I heard articulate the value of String Theory. He was actually the only person I’ve ever heard refer to String Theory – which has nothing to do with string. And Sheldon – of The Big Bang Theory sitcom – isn’t even a real person.

Enter Michio Kaku.

The Yoda Of Physics

Kaku is a theoretical physicist. In the scientific world he’s a big deal. His real claim to fame is his resemblance to Yoda – the Jedi Master – also not real.

What is real is his claim that “we exist in a plan which is governed by rules that were created by a universal intelligence and not by chance.” And his reasoning has caused a stir in the scientific community.

“Ours is a universe of order, beauty, elegance and simplicity. The universe is gorgeous.”

He explained the universe didn’t have to be this way — it could have been ugly and chaotic. “Our universe is rich. You can summarize most of the laws of physics on one sheet of paper.”

String Theory

“I have concluded that we are in a world made by rules created by an intelligence. (Science World Report) Believe me, everything that we call chance today won’t make sense anymore.”

Kaku is one of the creators and developers of the revolutionary String Theory. He also readily admits that no theory or experiment can be used to prove or disprove the existence of God.

Chemistry, Physics And Strings

In an article for Big Think, he wrote that his String Theory was based on the idea that we are “reading the mind of God.”

String theory postulates that all the particles, atoms, molecules, etc. in the universe are nothing but musical notes on vibrating strings or membranes.

As such, chemistry represents the melodies played on these strings, physics represents the beautiful harmonies of nature, and the universe is a symphony of strings.

It would also mean that the “mind of God” is like cosmic music.

Why Music?

Isn’t it coincidental that music is called “the language of the soul” and so much of how we connect with God is through music?

Why does God so often tell us not simply to praise Him but to sing His praises when believers gather together? Why not just pray and preach?

God’s people throughout history are always singing. Why words and music and not just words alone?

“…speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord.” Ephesians 5:19 (New International Version)

God Himself sings.

God exalts over His creation “with loud singing.” Zephaniah 3:17 (New International Version)

The familiar lyric in Joy To the World, “and heaven and nature sing” takes on a whole new meaning.

This is so interesting. Louis Giglio has made music with the sound that stars and whales make. You have to listen to it, it is only 9 minutes long. It expresses exactly what this man is saying in your article. The entire universe is worshipping God at all times. I love it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=helxFeG-0n0

Star music. So inspiring. Thank you for posting the video, Jodie.

Love the logic of science and god existing in the same sentence. I believe in a plan…I know it will all make sense one day. Right now I am enjoying the music and my dance through life…all the good, bad, and ugly parts I continue to dance.

    Amazing!

Glad to know you are in “The Dance.” Praying for you, Chris.

I see I already commented twice last year. Lol Well this is still amazing but I’ve spent more time listening to the video from Louie Giglio and reading apologetics and together with science proving intelligent design more and more, it is a wonder to me! No wonder God says clearly that he can be seen in the world even if someone has never heard the Gospel. “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.”
