WHAT IN THE WORLD IS GOD DOING? Uncategorized

WHAT IN THE WORLD IS GOD DOING?

Over the past 36 years of ministry I’ve been asked a question by anxious news watchers, inquisitive students and seekers of all sorts. The question is: "What in the world is God doing today?" If you want to know what God is doing in the world have a look at your local church. 5 Ways God Is At Work Through His Church 1. The local church is the center of God's attention and activity in every community. The Church universal is God's experiment in love and grace. When believers love unconditionally, the church works. When believers make anything else their modus operandi we fail. 2. The local church is the hope of the world. Its pragmatic to be a part…

3 THINGS ASLAN GOT WRONG ABOUT JESUS

Reviewers called his book “a bold, powerfully argued re-visioning of the most consequential life ever lived.” How can you argue with the acclaim Reza Aslan’s Zealot: Jesus of Nazareth received, becoming a NY Times bestseller and reaching #1 on Amazon? Fox News and CNN's Piers Morgan propelled his rise in popularity. Out of curiosity I read his book. In many ways, Aslan's book is simply a rehashing of old ideas. He knew losing focus or getting sidetracked from their faith would be a threat. Jesus took unleavened bread and broke it and told them to eat - this was "his body." He took wine and gave it them and told them to drink - this was "his blood." Then he told them to repeat this practice in remembrance…

The Gift of Intercession Uncategorized

The Gift of Intercession

This is a humble request for a gift. Its something I am asking on behalf of our pastoral team. Its the request of a "minute" of intercession. There are four vital questions that demand honest answers: 1. Do you believe God answers prayer? 2. Do you believe God answers YOUR prayers? 3. Are you praying for your pastoral team…daily? 4. If not, will you start today? We believe that if you will manage your minute(s) praying for the team, God will manage miracles. You ask, “What good would praying for a minute a day do?” I ask, "Are you praying a minute a day for the team already?" If not, then your praying can only help. It would help our…
