North Pointe exists to see a personal relationship with Jesus grow in everyone; everyday.

Having a personal relationship with Jesus is not a trite or trivialized idea  – its God’s idea.

Don’t miss the profound in the familiar words of John 3:16 – “…God so loved the world…” That’s a love for a world of people – a love that is personal.

God wants a relationship with YOU.

A healthy relationship is based on:

1. TRUST

Trust is conditional. “I trust you because…” is a reasonable perspective.

God is trustworthy because He is the loving Creator.

He is omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent.

He knew you before you were born. He numbers all of your days and the hairs on your head. (Psalm 139 and Luke 12:17) He gave His very best in giving His Son. “How shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?” (Romans 8:32)

You can trust God to work out all things for your good. (Romans 8;28)

2. COMMUNICATION

God’s communication will always lift you up.

He does not condemn.

Jesus will talk to you.  Jesus said, ““My sheep hear my voice, and I know them and they follow me.” John 10:27 (ESV)

He knows exactly what we need to hear from Him. His words are pure, powerful, true, life-giving and liberating.

Are you listening? You can hear His voice through the Bible and through prayer.

3. CONFLICT

God will help you deal with yesterday’s hurts and hangups through the power of forgiveness.

Forgiving is not forgetting – its releasing the hurt into God’s jurisdiction.

Forgiveness is a gift you give yourself.

Forgiveness frees you from an ongoing hurt and enables you to love and trust again.

God forgives you so you can forgive others. Accept His forgiveness.

4. ADVERSITY and CRISIS

Strong relationships are sustained in tough times.

Sometimes God will clam a storm in your life and sometimes He will calm you in the storm.

“Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death , I will fear no evil, for you are with me.” (Psalm 23:4) Those words have brought comfort to people for thousands of years because they are true.

WHO can have a personal relationship with Jesus? Anyone who believes. Why not you?

WHEN can you begin a personal relationship with Jesus? Now. A relationship with Jesus is a prayer away: “Jesus, I believe you are God and that you died for me. I believe on you as MY Saviour. Come into my life. I give you control. Help me to live for you.”

HOW can you grow in that relationship? By making Jesus the boss of your life. By giving Him control. He’ll help you learn to be out of control and love it.

WHAT should you do now? Thank God for his love for you. Tell someone about the choice you made. Start reading the Bible (online versions at YouVersion.) Go to church with a friend this Sunday. Enjoy! Jesus gives life to the full.
