AN OPEN LETTER TO DADS

She was blond and beautiful, with azure eyes and a tumble of tawny curls. At three years of age, she would climb into her daddy's lap, snuggle up with a wide, satisfied smile, and purr, "This is my safe place!" And so it was. A SAFE PLACE Dads, husbands, YOU are the "safe place." You are our protector and provider. And when you gather us for a time with God, we need a safe place. A safe place, not a lecture. A safe place, not a sermon. A very human dad/husband who simply cares about God and us. We don't need or even want a "spiritual giant." We just want you. And we need a gathering time where it's safe…

3 POSITIVE PRACTICES OF DADS AND MENTORS

The most important conversation with my dad was as a University student. Though he never attended University he had a Masters degree in life. He taught me a process for making important choices. As a result I chose to stay in University, learned the value of perseverance, got a degree, discovered my calling and soon there’ll be peace in the Middle East. (OK, it wasn’t that good.) LIFE OF DAD

I discovered a site in my research about Dads that I think you'll like, even if you're not a Dad. Life of Dad began in 2008 as daily updates on Tommy Riles's sweet daughter Bab’s health.  Babs was born with a heart defect, and battled through life-saving surgery at just 3 days old. Tommy works on the “Ellen DeGeneres Show” as her audience warm-up comic. Here is his first ever post, written when Babs was just 1 day old. Since then Life of Dad has become one of the coolest destination for dads on…

DADS DON’T HAVE TO BE SUPERMAN

Dads don’t need to be super in order to raise great kids. No cape required for the role. Dads do need to be a man of steel when it comes to their faith, unconditional love and integrity. DARYL'S STORY Daryl Tancowny was a down linemen when he played football. He coached with me in the St Albert Minor Football League. The kids looked up to him in more ways than one. He's 6' 4" and a solid 280lbs. They called Daryl, "Big D." To watch him as a dad is incredible - he is a gentle giant. Daryl is the grateful father of two sons - future football players themselves. Hugging A Miracle Daryl says, “Becoming a father is proof…
