Three things will last forever – faith, hope and love and the greatest of these is Hope – as in Hope Thomas.

Hope is the newest addition to the Pastoral staff at North Pointe – and we couldn’t be happier. She’s been a devoted volunteer in NP’s Youth Ministry during her four years of study at Vanguard College. Two years ago Hope was given responsibility for “Anthem 56” – our mid-week ministry for Grades 5 and 6 students.

On November 14, 2017 she accepted the full time role of Youth Pastor.

Who Is Hope?

You’ll hear Hope’s laughter long before you see her smile. And how about that smile?

Hope or Hopiee as her besties know her, spent her formative years in Calgary – the oldest of three daughters, with one younger brother in a pastor’s home.

Although she’s a bit misguided – she’s still a devoted fan of the Calgary Flames – she’s got a good head on her shoulders.

She’s a knowledgeable sports fan who can hold her own with the best of them.

Friends

There’s nothing that holds Hope back – she’ll travel thirty six hours to Vancouver from Edmonton with a friend just to see the Pacific Ocean.

You’ll probably find her eating butter chicken and rice on a Saturday night if she’s not at an Oilers game

Hope has friends from coast to coast in Canada and around the world because she is the best kind of friend.

Place Of Hope

Hope puts Indian and hipster in the same sentence.

When the fires near Fort McMurray forced people from their houses in May 2016, Hope opened her home to a family as a place of refuge.

She’s eaten sushi in New York, lobster and cod in Newfoundland and earned her driver’s license in Edmonton.

Her crew of Anthem 56 volunteers love working with her – not for her. And they are the best!

Passionate Leadership

There are great things in store with Hope leading Anthem 56 and Anthem Youth. She has big dreams, loves the Lord and has a total devotion to growing leaders and serving youth.

Guiding Grade 5 and 6’s can be like herding cats. Not with Hope.

She says, “I love Anthem 56 because Grade 5 & 6 kids are the VERY best! There is nothing like hanging out, playing crazy games, and sharing God’s love with them! It is also amazing to watch a team mostly made of high school students serving these kids and becoming leaders that follow after Christ!”

“I am definitely privileged to have the opportunity to be a part in seeing the incredible transformation that God does in the lives of the kids at Anthem 56 and Anthem Youth!”

Welcome to the Pastoral staff, Hope, the pleasure is all ours!

Oh! I read this with happy tears in my eyes! Hope has been such a beautiful blessing to our church, my family, and specifically to my 11 year old daughter. We have been so sad thinking that Hope would be leaving us now that she is graduating. I am so thankful to hear that Hope will be staying on. She is an amazing leader with such a heart for Jesus and our young people. Love you Hope!
