I was on the bottom bunk, sitting on the fuzzy yellow blanket from Grandma. It was a comfortable place to get a revelation.

The phrase – Bless the Lord – came traipsing through my nine year-old consciousness.

What my mind could not grasp my spirit responded to and I resolved that if I could, I would bless the heart of God.

I met Julianna Christensen at her interview for ministerial credentials. Julianna grew up on the mission field and presently serves at West Edmonton Christian Assembly. She exudes a contagious enthusiasm for prayer and seeking God. So I asked her to share her experience as inspiration for others to “bless the Lord”.

How Do The Created Bless The Creator?

How do we, the dust, touch the heart that holds the world? The answer is as simple and difficult as showing up.

In one word the answer is prayer. To bless God is to come to Him believing He is who He says He is and that He does what He says He will do.

For some, prayer is boring and they secretly think it does nothing.

Hardly.

What Happens When You Pray

To pray is to stand before the most loving and most powerful Person that exists. The place of prayer is the place of ultimate influence because the all loving all powerful Person is actually listening to you.

God is humble and unhurried. He waits for us to come to Him. When we show up there is no one who is more delighted and more blessed than He is. What will He not do for those who dare to ask, who dare to show up and believe He is good?

There are many dreams in the heart of God. These dreams will not be birthed on the earth unless someone prays, unless someone asks God what He is thinking about today.

This is how we bless God’s heart.

Changing The World

Walter Wink said “history belongs to the intercessors,” which is another way of saying that the person who prays the most changes the world the most.

We are all able to bless the heart of God.

So what are you waiting for?

    Thanks for sharing Julianna.

I too have come to realize as of late that I can do nothing without His help. And that only comes as I spend time in his presence.

Yes, prayer is the answer to everything as we engage in life.
