Here are two FREE reading plans that will build you up every day.
No regrets: Get into the Bible and get the Bible into you in 2015.
No excuses: With Bible reading apps like YouVersion, there is every reason to be able to use your smartphone or mobile devices to access the Bible everyday.
And did I mention, they are FREE.
1. DAY BY DAY WITH BILLY GRAHAM
I chose the “Billy Graham Reading Plan” for North Pointe this year because of Dr. Graham’s unequaled, worldwide influence. You may never get to meet Billy Graham in person but reading his devotionals could bring heaven to your soul and your soul to heaven.
Each day there is a scripture reading along with insight, encouragement and practical application from Billy Graham’s sermons and writings.
The great thing about this plan is you can read JUST the selected verse OR you could read the whole chapter that contains the verse OR vary each day how you use the same plan.
Bible reading and Billy Graham – what a great one-two punch for 2015!
Here is a sample of the devotionals – January 1st.
“As we flick the calendar to a new year, we come face to face with the fact that our days on earth are numbered. As the Psalmist wrote, ‘Teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.’
No thoughtful person can approach New Year’s Day without some introspection.
We are reminded of the brevity of time.
We also look back over our failures, mistakes, and missed opportunities, and vow that we will make better use of our time during the coming year.
Psychiatrists tell us that most people are starved for love.
Take time for the goodbye kiss; we shall go to work with a sweeter spirit.
The secret of a happy home is that members of the family learn to give and receive love.
Take time to express your love in a thousand ways.”
As I begin a new year, Lord Jesus, I pray that my walk through the days ahead will be filled with Your love for others, a love that does not count the cost.

2. THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR
There is also a plan that will take you through the whole Bible in one year. I like this plan because you read Old Testament and New Testament passages everyday and there is a commentary by Nicky Gumbel.
Here is a sample of the devotional for January 1st.
“The good news is that each year is an opportunity for new beginnings and a fresh start. But then so is each week. Every Sunday is the first day of the week – a new beginning. Actually, every day is an opportunity for a new beginning: God’s mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22–23).
The first three words in the Bible are, ‘In the beginning …’ (Genesis 1:1). Each of the passages for today tells us something about new beginnings and new opportunities, and suggests some possible New Year’s resolutions.”
