Matt and Hannah Kaup are making a world of difference.
They are young and newly married.
Matt is a full-time student with a part-time job and big time dreams.
They are the proud parents of Annaliese and Abigail.
The Kaups are also the sponsors of three children in three African nations through three organizations: Compassion Canada, World Vision and Watoto.
Why Do You Sponsor Children?
“We chose to sponsor children because God has blessed us financially. We wanted to make an intentional effort to bless others with what we’ve been given.”
Deuteronomy 16:17 says, ‘Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the LORD your God which He has given you.’
We had talked about wanting to sponsor a child after our daughter, Annaliese, was born.
Generous Hearts
When the Watoto Children’s Choir came to North Pointe, it stirred our hearts to think that there are babies like Annaliese orphaned or without care. This led to us sponsoring a child through Watoto.
A similar event at North Pointe led us to sponsor a child through World Vision.
We had heard of Compassion Canada as well and were interested in sponsoring a child through them. It was an easy process to sign up online and get involved with our sponsor child. You are able to send emails, get information on church and community programs, and learn about the life of the child you are supporting all through your online account.”
Sponsorship Is Stewardship
“Sponsorship has been a reminder of how much we are blessed but also that this wealth is not ours, it belongs to God. Sponsoring a child means that you commit to pray for them, write and receive letters, and financially support them.
We’ve found this type of spiritual, personal and financial exercise helps us grow and mature as a Christians.
It also gives hope, a future and most importantly the love of Jesus Christ to a child who may not receive it otherwise.
We found its true that you cannot outgive God.”
Caring For Orphans
“Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.” James 1:27 (NLT)
“Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Sell your possessions, and give to the needy. Provide yourselves with moneybags that do not grow old, with a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” Luke 12:32:34 (ESV)
