GOD SENT ME TO PRISON: RENA’S STORY

My husband, Wayne, has been transferred numerous times over the course of his career. At last count, we had been relocated twenty-one times. It’s my contention, that should Wayne lose his job in the power industry, our experience in moving would put us in good stead for a career with Two Men and A Truck. (I’d be the unidentified female in the background, adept at packing boxes!!) One of Wayne’s work assignments took us to Perth, Australia. It was while we were there, that God sent me to prison. (Yes, I’m blaming God! I can’t account for this any other way.) It wasn’t because I’d committed a crime that I found myself in jail, but because of a story that…

Born Marguerite Anne Johnson on April 4, 1928, she would change her name to "Maya" and later adopt the appellation, “Dr” only because she wanted others to call her “Dr.” "I have studied everything. I spent some time with Zen Buddhism and Judaism and I spent some time with Islam. I found that I really want to be a Christian. When I say, ‘I am a Christian’ I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and…

ALS: HOW GOD CAN USE A TERMINAL DIAGNOSIS

Jeremy Williams was known as the "Georgia Assassin" when he played NCAA football for the University of Memphis. Today, the legs that carried him to gridiron glory now rest on the metal base of a wheelchair. His lungs, which at one time were used to inhale oxygen deeply after a long run, are controlled by a ventilator, and his voice, which gave speeches, encouraged teammates and coached players, is silenced. He uses his index finger to push the wheelchair's trigger to move his machine. He and Lou Gerhrig share an athlete's heart and a disease's death sentence - ALS. A Family Is For Facing Life Together After graduation from Memphis, Jeremy married Jennifer, his high school crush and their first…
