I want MORE of God who knows my infallibility and allows room for me to err on the side of mercy and grace.

I want MORE of God who allows the righteous to suffer and the unrighteous to prosper, in this life. (Romans 5:3; Psalm 73:3)more

I want MORE of God who designed marriage to be for life and permitted Moses to write a “bill of divorce.” (Deuteronomy 24:1)

I want MORE of God who is a Holy, Perfect, Sinless Creator and loves unholy, imperfect, sinful creatures. (Psalm 5:4; John 3:16)

I want MORE of God who forgave those who mercilessly crucified Him and never regretted the day He marvelously created them. (Luke 23:34)

I want MORE of God who is perfectly able to accept without approving. (Luke 15:24)

I want MORE of God who is Righteous and Merciful. (Psalm 116:5)

I want MORE of God who is Almighty and Humble. (Philippians 2:8)

I want MORE of God who is Grace and Truth. (John 1:14)morning

I want MORE of God who has no limits and limited Himself eternally to a body with the wounds of crucifixion. (Revelation 5:6)

I want MORE of God who abhors sin’s power so much that He sent His Son Jesus to die as a sin-sacrifice and absolutely loves sinners so much that He wills that none should perish. (2 Peter 3:9)

I want MORE of  God who is good and allows evil. (Job 1:11)

I want MORE of God who knows the future and has given us free will. (Ephesians 1:11)

This is why I so appreciate you.
I want more of this God too. This is who I KNOW he is.
“I want MORE of God who is Righteous and Merciful. (Psalm 116:5)
I want MORE of God who is a Holy, Perfect, Sinless Creator and loves unholy, imperfect, sinful creatures. (Psalm 5:4; John 3:16)”
This is something that I hear people struggling with daily, “I want MORE of God who knows the future and has given us free will. (Ephesians 1:11)”. I like to think that our view of what is happening here each day, whether deep suffering or great joy, is that of a macro photo. We only see what is directly in front of us, even our memories of the past are through a small lens. But God is looking at the panoramic of all of history and future, he is unconstrained by time, he is eternity. He is weaving his love story with mankind and his view is so far beyond our understanding that we can’t even imagine what the culmination will be like.
He loves us so much that he can allow suffering for ultimate good. As a parent, I have a small understanding of how difficult that must be. I want more of him. And I want to know more of him, so that I can be more like him.
Thank you for talking of hard things, and showing love and grace in them.

God’s ideal and will but permits man’s less than ideal decisions.
This stands out to me big time and resonates with my Beliefs.
I accept that I have family members and friends who identify as LGBT. I love them and continue to be part of their lives. I don’t necessarily accept that how they live is ideal or God’s original will for mankind. But I also ponder whether God permits this in His Church. Again not his intention for humanity but perhaps permissable given our fallen natute, both physically and spiritually.
    Lots of pondeting lately.
My conviction is that Jesus desires all men know him and be saved and that his Grace is for every sinner.
My conviction is that all believers are part of the Church.

Hi Jacquelyn. Thanks for commenting. I may find myself later sounding repetitive but I’ll start here…this is such a fantastic time to be a Christian and serving in God’s kingdom and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ! I am privileged to get to do what I do.

I think almost everyone in the Church knows someone who is struggling with something. God is BIG enough to accept them as they are and lead them by His Spirit to a saving knowledge of Jesus…if we can be a bridge not a barrier to the Gospel. Once they cross the bridge there is opportunity for renewed thinking and seeing lives transformed. And that transformation isn’t microwaveable…it requires patience, perseverance and love. 3 steps forward and 2 steps back at times. We’re in this together.

The implication is that people inside the Church also mess up from time to time. That is why grace, forgiveness and seeking first to understand before being understood is vital to the health of the Church.

The Lord is at work and He is good!

Thanks Kristen for commenting. MORE of God and Him having more of us is what we need. That’s a path to revival.

I think that even in my own imperfection if one of my family did something that I couldn’t approve, I would still accept them and love them with all my heart. Our sons will always be our sons. Our daughter-in-laws will always be our family, regardless. Our Grandkids will always be our family, regardless. When Jesus says, “If you being evil know how to give good gifts to your children how much MORE will your Heavenly Father…”

    Hope is strong.

Hi Pastor Bob, I want more of God who is Grace and Truth. There are none among us who do not need more of God’s Grace. I for one could be more giving of God’s Grace. God’s Truth is the only true Truth. There is so much out there that is not what we think it is or what it appears to be. God is not like that. We can trust in His Truth.

I want more of God who is Love: This is how God showed His Love among us: He sent His one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him. 1 John 4:9 NIV.
    1 John 4:7-21, 1 Corinthians 13:4-8.
We are here on this earth to learn how to Love. I know that I want more of God’s Love. I also know that I want to give more of God’s Love.

Does not God always leave us wanting more so that we continually seek Him? I think so.

  • bob jones says:

That’s a great observation…the more we have of God the MORE we want of God. Thank you for commenting, Patricia.
