What I discovered this week. July 14-18, 2024.
Did you know that there are 7.5 million blog posts published every day? That’s 52.5 million a week. I contributed a couple of them and read a few of them. There are 600 million active blogs across the internet. Here’s a couple of authors and sites I discovered this week.
What I Discovered This Week
You Can’t Argue With Crazy – Gabrielle Blair
I discovered Gabrielle Blair through reading Brene Brown’s newsletter. Twenty years ago, when the internet was an embryo, a small set of mothers gave birth to the influencer industry. Gabrielle Stanley Blair was one of those women. Gabrielle is a lot of things to a lot of people including a Twitter thread that turned into an instant best-selling book.

Ukraine’s National Prayer Breakfast – Steven Moore
This week I was challenged with the notion that the President of Ukraine “persecutes Christians.” In June 2024, Steven Moore met more than eight hundred participants representing a dozen different religious denominations gathered for Ukraine’s annual National Prayer Breakfast. He writes for the Atlantic Council.

All Lanes are Open – Stephanie Morris
I was on a blogsite called Fit is a Feminist Issue. First time reader. How I got there is a long story but suffice to say the discovery was born out of relationship. The post starts with a “would you rather” question about flying or breathing under water and ends with a discovery about the exponential benefits of exercise. What matters most is the writer. Stephanie Morris was a teen in our church with a love for writing.

Bonus
A Little Humanity – Kayla Muth
Kayla and fer father, Darrel, write at Substack in an account called Muth-ology. Darrell served as a pastor in Edmonton for a number of years, was a church planter and highly esteemed by his colleagues. I don’t know Kayla but she impresses me as a thoughtful writer. She shares her thoughts on how easy it is for Christians to choose evil.
