POST #1. WICKED STRONG: JOCELYN’S CANCER JOURNEY
“I have cancer.”
Jocelyn’s voice sounded a million miles away.
Unreal.
Words I never expected to hear from my wife.
POST #2. MY ENCOUNTER WITH GOD: AKIANE KRAMARIK
Akiane Kramarik’s atheist parents were surprised when their three-year-old began to describe dreams and visions from God. This inexplicable direction in their daughter’s life, combined with a remarkable talent in art and poetry, inspired her family to re-examine their own lives.
POST #3. SILVER LININGS: VANESSA GLEW’S STORY
On April 8th, 2013, I heard the words you never want to hear, “You have cancer.”
My life was never the same from that day on. Fortunately for me the mass in my sigmoid colon was operable. They found what was causing my grief and it was going to be removed. This was my FIRST Silver Linings moment.
POST #4. I WANT TO GO TO HIS CHURCH
Being a hockey chaplain is low profile work. The good they do is largely unnoticed – until thrust into the unimaginable. On April 6th Sean Brandow’s team was devastated in a horrific bus crash that claimed the lives of fifteen people.
Sean and his children were driving the same route as the hockey team to a Friday night playoff game against the Nipawin Hawks and came across the wreckage of the crash. He walked up on a scene he never wants to see again to sounds he never wants to hear again and later coming to the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon to sit and hold the hand of a lifeless body.
POST #5. AN EIGHT-YEAR OLD’S BUCKET LIST
How on earth can you make sense of an eight-year old needing a bucket list?
Buckets are for kids to fill with sand and make sandcastles. And collect Saskatoons, raspberries or ladybugs. Or for carrying water to pour over their sister’s head.
Janaya Chekowski-McKenzie, is a bright, spunky, beautiful eight-year old, and an incredible fighter with unlimited potential.
However, the list of her medical complications is almost as long as her bucket list.
APPLICATION: Which one of these five is your favorite? Please leave a comment below. And pass this post on to friends so they can enjoy reading more at Pointes Of View in 2019. Thank you.

My favourite is #5 The Eight year old with a Bucket List. I’m 53 and I don’t have one, although I should after all the operations I’ve had over the past 4 years. I started back when I was 26. Somehow I just knew God had His hands on me and wasn’t finished with me yet.
