There is a profound moment in Jesus’ life. He exudes a crystal, clear understanding of his life priority. And he was only 12 years old. He had gone missing from his family after an annual Passover trip to Jerusalem. His parents initially didn’t think anything of it, believing he was with other family members in their caravan returning home. However when they didn’t find him with extended family they started to worry. Ever thought you’d lost your child? Anxiety. Panic. That’s exactly what happens with Jesus’ family. They searched for five days before they found him. When they do his mother says to him, “Why did you treat us like this? We have been so worried!”
He responds by matter-of-factly saying, “I’ve been taking care of business. My Father’s business.” Shouldn’t that have been obvious? (Jones Translation Luke 2:49)
Jesus sets the pace for the Church today. We need to take care of business.
There is crystal, clear vision in our leadership of what God’s business is at NP. Its expressed in three priorities:
1. Building faith at home.
2. Training for purpose based on S.H.A.P.E.
3. Obeying the Great Commission.
We are committing our resources, intercession, and our passion to getting these priorities right. When we get these three right, Randy Bachman couldn’t say it better – we’re takin’ care of business!
