Online is the new third place. And third place isn’t bad. Home and workplace are the usual first and second social environments. With cafes, churches, clubs and libraries closed for COVID, online now occupies third place.
Zoom Boom
By now everyone has heard of or been on at least one Zoom call. Some of you spend hours every day in zoom meetings. Over the last four weeks of isolation I’ve zoomed to Israel, China, Sri Lanka, Columbia, and Egypt with scheduled visits to Siberia, Dominican Republic and Burundi coming up.
Virtual visits are one the limited ways we can connect with family, friends, and church. Online has exploded with church services, virtual choirs, devotionals and other resources.
