On a September Saturday our eldest son texted me our youngest granddaughter’s work of art.
A Work of Art
“Jayda painted this for you today. This was her own idea.”
You can see in the attached image a simple message. And it had a surprisingly profound effect on me. I was so taken by its influence that I made it the screen saver on my phone. And I asked my son to frame the picture for me.
I see the image multiple times every day. Sometimes I turn on my phone just to see it.
Jayda will never fully comprehend what her work of art means to me until she has a grandchild of her own. The innocence of a grandchild’s love for someone she gets to spend very little time with is precious.
The Creator God
The Universe is God’s work of art. He hung the stars that we would know we are loved by the Creator.
The Universe is God’s extravagance. The billions of stars in billions of solar systems in billions of galaxies are there for no other purpose than to declare the glory of God.
If humans are the only inhabitants of the Universe, the planets and stars are not empty spaces, but places filled with the richness of the Creator God’s love.
The diversity, variety, and beauty of creation says, “I love you.”
We live every day in God’s work of art. Enjoy it. Be grateful for it. Be reminded that God created you as his work of art.
