Coalition of the Caring
The International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children was officially launched in Kyiv, Ukraine, on February 2, 2024. The Government of Ukraine and the Government of Canada co-chair the Coalition. Their aim is to bring Ukrainian children home to their families and communities.
The Coalition will coordinate joint efforts and cooperation between Ukraine and partner states to address the issue of the unlawful deportation and forced transfer of Ukrainian children by the Russian Federation. 
Since February 2022, an estimated 20,000 Ukrainian children have been deported, forcibly transferred or otherwise displaced from the territory of Ukraine to the temporarily occupied territories and to Russia to erase their identity. Currently, fewer than 400 children have been returned to Ukraine and reunited with their families.
