A 70th birthday is a significant breakthrough called a platinum jubilee.
70 Years
The secret is out. Bob’s 70th is May 18th.
Is 70 old? What do you think?
What if all the accomplishments, experiences, and wisdom gained over 70 years came together to do something significant?
Bob has a crazy idea to raise money on his platinum b-day to help some new friends.
Starfish
In a world of overwhelming needs where do you start? And what difference can one perssn make?
A girl stands on the beach, where hundreds of starfish have been swept up by the waves and stranded there to die. She’s throwing the starfish back in the water, one by one, so they can survive.
A grownup watches her for a minute from up on the boardwalk, and then yells down, “You can’t possibly throw all those starfish back in the water. You could stand there all night throwing starfish — it won’t matter.”
The girl looks around, throws another starfish into the water, and says, “It matters to this one.”
This one, Ukraine, is a place that our family wants to make a difference. Bob was there in December 2023 and taking holidays to back in April 2024.
Ukraine is wide open to God. There is an incredible opportunity to be a compassionate influence in the lives of the next generation of Ukrainians.
